Dr. Shahid Ahmad is a Senior Public Health Consultant working in the field of Health Planning, Program Management, Research, Trainings, and Monitoring and Evaluation. He got his MBBS degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore and completed Diploma in Public Health (DPH) from University of the Punjab, Lahore.  He was technical lead in the process of development of three years rolling plans for all the districts of Sindh, funded by USAID and executed through JSI & Contech consortium. He also worked as team leader in the development of Reference Manual for implementation of Hospital standards (TRF funded) for the Punjab Healthcare Commission. He also worked as team member in the development of Reference Manual for implementation of PHC and SHC standards (GIZ funded) for the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  

Moreover, He worked for National Hepatitis Control program Islamabad and developed National Guidelines on Hospital waste management and infection control practices. He was Team member for Health Facility Assessment Survey Punjab (SP-09), carried out in all districts of Punjab. He also worked as Program Manager in Public-Private Mix TB DOTS project, implemented in Lahore, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi.  He remained involved in several other projects due to his rich experience in both public and private sector. Currently, he has worked as Senior Public Health Consultant for ‘Health System Strengthening Component of USAID MCH Program Sindh’ and ‘Integrated Health Systems Strengthening and Service Delivery (IHSS-SD) Program’.
