Dr. Umer Farooq is a graduate of King Edward Medical College; and did Master's in public health from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He then worked at the National Drug and Alcohol Centre (NDARC), Sydney, where he worked on the Global Burden of Disease Project (a project of WHO); and the Reference Group to the United Nations for HIV and Illicit Drug Use. He joined Contech International Health Consultants in May 2009 and since then, he has been working on several projects. 

Dr. Umer holds more than 10 years of experience in research and management of surveys/assessments. He has extensive experience of working as health planning expert and Focal Person for District Action Planning for USAID’ health system strengthening projects. He has also worked as Research Expert and Team lead/Project Manager for multiple national and international donor funded projects, such as UNICEF, IRC, Aga Khan Health Services, Technical Resource Facility, RAF and USAID. Dr. Umer has rich experience of research, data collection, management and analysis. He has strong analytical and managerial skills.
